Doorbell Ring Interface Module
The DBM Doorbell Ring Interface Module is a small plug-in device designed to sense the current of a doorbell ring to trigger the transmission of digital commands onto the existing powerlines.
Send any UPB link command to turn on or off (or blink) any light or group of lights upon the ringing of a doorbell. Great for the hearing impaired!
New for Generation II
Enhanced Noise Immunity
Generation I devices sometimes would not respond, even manually, if there was a certain amount of noise on the powerline. Generation II now alleviates this type of situation.
Receive Sensitivity Adjustment
Now you can adjust the receive sensitivity in UPStart to improve communication in excessive powerline noise.
Cool Blue LED
The new status LED color gives your wall switches a modern “high-tech” look.
Operation
Simply plug the DBM into any standard wall outlet and wire the device to one or more doorbell circuits. The Doorbell Ring Interface Module provides two independent channels of doorbell ring sensing inputs to activate single lights, trigger dramatic scenes, or send messages to a central controller. The DBM can be configured to send any UPB link command to turn on or off or blink a light or group of lights upon a doorbell ring.
Senses Front and Back Doorbells Independenly
Each input is completely independent of the other. An easy-to-wire four terminal connector enables terminating up to two separate off-the-shelf doorbell circuits from as far away as 1000 feet.
Transmits to the Powerline
Each input can be programmed to transmit on the powerline - activate or deactivate any link when it senses the doorbell ring.
Sensing Disabled
Each input sensing channel can be temporarily suspended when the DBM receives a specific UPB Activate command. It
Colors
The DBM comes in a White colored plastic enclosure with a bi-color (blue/red) status LED indicator.

can then be unsuspended upon receiving a specific UPB Deactivate command. This is very useful for setting up a keypad pushbutton to suspend an input at special times that you don’t want the “normal” sensing to occur.
Easy To Configure
Like all PulseWorx devices, the DBM can be initially configured using PCS’s free UPStart Software setup tool. UPStart enables configuring such parameters as Network Name, Network ID, Unit ID, Room name, Device name, default on light levels, fade rates, LED colors, dimming disable, auto shut-off time, etc. as well as test the operation and communication strength of the device. UPStart has the option to configure an entire network off-line and then download the information into the devices after they are installed in the home.
PulseWorx Lighting Control System
The Doorbell Ring Interface Module is designed to be an integral part of a complete PulseWorx Lighting Control System. Like all PulseWorx devices, the DBM uses the patented UPB™ powerline communication technology (invented by PCS) to reliably communicate with any other UPB-compatible device(s) over the existing house electrical wires. No new wires are necessary making PulseWorx perfect for retrofit situations. When initial configuration is complete, a single push of a button is all you need to activate any group of lights (or virtually anything else that connects to AC power wiring) throughout the house simultaneously.
