PulseWorx™ Introduction
PulseWorx™ is a complete Lighting Control System
that uses existing powerlines to give residential customers one-touch
control over their home's lighting. PulseWorx™ products are
designed to work within the current framework that already exists
in the home—no new wires are required.
PulseWorx™ products utilize UPB™ technology,
providing the most reliable powerline controls available today.
  Complete System: PulseWorx™ has
all of the components required to install a complete residential
control system, including wall switch dimmers,
wall mounted and desktop controllers, plug-in
lamp modules and interface
module
(for interfacing with PC and other I/O control modules.)
From the Inventors of UPB™: PulseWorx™ products are a result of
7 years of Research and Development. Thousands of hours of testing
and development have gone into producing this complete line of
residential control products that are unprecedented in their reliability.
In recognition of this achievement, UPB™ has been awarded the Home
Automation Technology Product of the Year from Electronic House,
the automation industry's premier publication.
Uses Existing Wires: PulseWorx™ uses powerlines that already exist
in homes, which reduces the cost and complexity of deploying a
lighting control system. Reliable: UPB™ uses low frequency, spread spectrum technology which
produces a very strong signal. In addition, UPB™ uses true 2-way
communications, allowing devices to reveal their status with each
other, providing feedback that commands have been successfully
executed. This combines to result in reliable communications that
are greater than 99% accurate.
Easy to Setup and Install: Because of the reliable
UPB™ technology,
no filters, repeaters or boosters are required for system installation.
All programming is performed electronically - no mechanical interaction.
Memory is stored within each device and because the communications
are 2-way, feedback from the device verifies that it has been programmed
correctly.
Computer Controllable: Allows
for set-up, test, and monitoring of the system from a home PC.
Also supports user control of home lighting through a PC using
third party software.
Compatible Interface: Interface
modules allow for additional functionality to be added by plugging
into a standard wall outlet. This includes: a PC interface; an
input control module which can trigger events; a door bell control
module which senses when a doorbell is pressed to turn on lights;
a telephone control module which senses a telephone ringing to
turn lights on and off; a low voltage output control module which
provides control for devices such as sprinkler valves, drapes and
garage door openers from UPB™ controllers.
