 How UPB Compares to X-10
"I have been installing home automation and lighting solutions since 1996 and have experienced the many/different aspects of lighting control; X10, RF, networked Smart Switches and centrally controlled. UPB is the solution I've been waiting for. I call it X10 on steroids, but the only thing X10 about it is that the control signals go over the standard house wiring. The UPB protocol is a masterpiece in every sense. The communication is robust and the capability to program advanced features will allow us to give customers some real cool features. I also like that the UPB switch system is a standalone lighting solution. Allowing us to install a nice system without the need for a controller until the customer is ready.
